Scratch & Rust Repair in Lanham, MD

Keyed paint, deep scratches, rock chips and rust bubbles repaired and refinished before they get worse.

Scratches

Light scratches that only reach the clear coat can sometimes be polished out. If you can catch your fingernail in the scratch, it has gone through to the color or primer and the area needs to be repaired and repainted. Keyed cars often need a whole panel or two refinished so the color is even.

Rust

Rust starts small, usually under a chip or scratch, around the wheel arches, or along the bottom of doors and rocker panels. Left alone it spreads under the paint. We remove the rust, repair the metal, then prime and paint to match.

Scratch & Rust Repair questions

Can a scratch be buffed out?

If it's only in the clear coat, often yes. If your fingernail catches in it, the scratch is deeper and the area needs to be refinished.

Should I fix a small rust spot now?

Yes. Small rust spots are much cheaper to fix than rust that has spread under the paint or eaten through the metal.

Is a keyed car covered by insurance?

Vandalism is usually covered under comprehensive coverage, minus your deductible. Check your policy, or get a free estimate first to compare.
